There is a very high correlation between the measurement values according to JIS standards and the wastewater from various business sites.
This measurement method uses the same reaction conditions for pollutants and potassium permanganate as JIS K 0102, and the volumes of the sample and reagents are conducted at one-twentieth of the JIS method. Heating at 100°C for 30 minutes is performed using a reactor instead of a water bath, and the amount of consumed permanganate ions is determined by measuring the decrease in absorbance with a photoLab 6100 water quality meter instead of using titration, displaying the COD concentration. Since the reaction conditions of this method are exactly the same as those of the JIS method, there is a very high correlation between the measurement values obtained by the JIS method and those obtained using the photoLab 6100.
